Statewide Economic Strike Against ICE in Minnesota
On Friday, a significant economic strike is anticipated in Minnesota, uniting union members, religious groups, and community members under the banner ?A Day of Truth and Freedom.? The event aims to protest the intensified activities of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the state. Organizers are calling for residents to refrain from work, school, and shopping to highlight the impact of federal immigration enforcement on local communities.
The Minnesota AFL-CIO has endorsed the strike, emphasizing the detrimental effects of ICE's operations on Minnesotans, particularly those of color. Union leaders express concerns over safety and the fear that many workers face daily. Numerous businesses, including co-ops and restaurants, plan to close in solidarity with the strike, while some will transform into community spaces for reflection and support.
The day will culminate in a rally and march in downtown Minneapolis, where participants will demand accountability from ICE and call for an end to its presence in Minnesota. Organizers urge local corporations to take a stand against ICE's actions, emphasizing the need for collective action to protect vulnerable communities.
Stars On Ice Minneapolis Sport reviews
Stars On Ice
Stars on Ice usually comes to Anaheim on Mother's Day weekend. It has become our tradition to go. We've been 4 years in a row now. The skating is impeccable, and it's always exciting to see our Olympic medalists, National, and World champions perform. The show also makes time to highlight local skating talent who perform a routine or two. If you are an iceskating aficionado, you will certainly enjoy the show.
Outside of the show, the concessions have become boring. I wish there was more than one provider or a new menu. It's our 4th year with chicken fingers, hot dogs, nachos, or hummus to choose from, just boring. And the Stars on Ice merchandise was not cute this year. They were basically just t-shirts with Stars on Ice in block lettering, no graphics or pictures.
